Helen was chosen to be part of the Crafts Council's Hothouse programme 2011 for emerging designer / makers. She is one of 28 makers from across the UK to be selected for the tailor-made programme of focussed, intensive business skills and creative development, complimented with 1:1 support over a six month period.
Hothouse aims:
To develop a national scheme profiling and supporting up to 40 of the most promising new makers each year
To develop a programme that places business acumen and creative development on an equal footing
To provide opportunities for emerging makers to test directions and develop options to inform the growth of their practice
To add Crafts Council value and support to the programmes of other CPD agencies
To profile models of practice and career routes to aspiring makers.
